About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Mechanical Engineer to support high visibility research and development activities in support of our US Army customer located at Fort Belvoir, VA. You will work with an established team of experienced engineers and technicians, and end-user Soldiers to turn concepts into reality in support of the Warfighter. Formulate innovative solutions to problems and work with a dedicated, world-class team to implement them. The candidate will provide Mechanical Engineer services on assigned US Army programs, with duties as identified below.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years' relevant experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Subject matter expert in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ability to lead engineering efforts on assigned programs with minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency in CAD and Digital Engineering applications as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

  • Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, development and engineering analyses, design, experimental/hardware development and system integration in one or more of a wide range of individual Soldier-related technical areas.
  • Application of professional knowledge of physical and/or engineering sciences, project management and system/component testing.
  • Knowledge in control systems, materials technology, alternative power technologies, thermodynamics of heat transfer and air flow analysis, laboratory and field testing/experimental methods, system of systems integration and analysis, computer-aided design and manufacturing, and integrated product and process development.
  • Performs top-level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation such as specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering changes.
  • Reviews test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs, for both Government and Contractor tests, as well as all failure reports.
  • Reviews and evaluates system performance against specification requirements, monitors and assesses field performance, and assesses risk of meeting user and specification requirements.
