Reuter-Stokes is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support Small Modular Reactor (SMR) projects within our Nuclear portfolio. In this role, you will take technical ownership of project deliverables and collaborate closely with our engineering team to drive successful outcomes. You will present to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, demonstrating how integrated technologies contribute to solving customer challenges and advancing strategic objectives.

  • Working with cross-functional Engineering Teams to maintain and develop products for the Small Modular Reactor Product line as well as assisting other product lines when required.
  • Ensuring mechanical component and system designs have appropriate analytical capability, empirical design, testing, and production level verification.
  • Ensuring that proper DFM rigor has been applied throughout the design process.
  • Coordinating multiple project tasks with the product Engineering Team Lead.
  • Working directly with the respective Product Line Leader, Quality and Manufacturing Teams to ensure products meet internal requirements.
  • Fostering a creative environment allowing for new ideas while embracing speed and excellence.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years' work experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with a CAD package (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Experience with a FEA package (ANSYS preferred).
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Experience with analysis of static, dynamic, pressure, seismic, direct mechanical and thermal loading.
  • Hands-on experience doing failure analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with ASME Pressure Vessel Design (Section III preferred).
  • Desire to advance team capabilities using new methods, materials, technologies, and software tools.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred, not required).
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP system.
  • Familiarity with SAP Engineering Control Center or similar PLM system.
  • Results-oriented self-starter with a track record of delivering results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels.
