About The Position

DCS Corp is seeking a dynamic, team oriented, energetic, and customer focused Mechanical Engineer to help support our Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) customers located at the U.S. Army's Warren, MI location. This opportunity would have the candidate working out of DCS's Sterling Heights location alongside a team of Project Leads, Engineers, and Technicians, with the core responsibility of leading mechanical design efforts for Ground Vehicle Power and Mobility.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Secret security clearance.
  • 2 years of CAD experience developing part and assembly level designs (Solidworks preferred).
  • Knowledge in manufacturing processes and ability to confirm part drawing manufacturability.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to work with a cross-functional team.

Nice To Haves

  • Project management skills.
  • CAE simulation experience for Thermal and Shock & Vibration studies.
  • Familiarity with standard drawing practices per Mil-Std-31000, ASME Y14.100, and ASME Y14.5.
  • Interpretation and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Experience using overhead cranes, forklifts, and machine shop equipment and a willingness to get hands-on.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical engineering support to our GVSC customers and engage directly throughout all areas of project execution.
  • Lead the mechanical design for high voltage components and ground vehicle integration efforts to include CAD design and Simulation Analysis.
  • Conduct design review meetings and provide status updates to project managers.
  • Develop mechanical drawing data packages and assembly documentation.
  • Create and issue work orders and purchase requisitions.
  • Work collaboratively with a cross functional team throughout design, documentation, and testing phases.
  • Provide leadership support and technical guidance during assembly and integration efforts.
