The Mechanical Engineer directs and coordinates the maintenance of the facility and manufacturing equipment in good working order. They provide engineering support to all departments regarding project management, electrical/mechanical repair/maintenance. Must be the site leader in living and driving the Company Core Values and High-Performance Work Culture.

  • Manage facility maintenance including HVAC, roof, air compressors, fork trucks, etc.
  • Lead Capex initiatives through to completion
  • Train others on Camera system. Ensure cameras are fully functional and coordinate with vendors as needed.
  • Fire and security point person and part of the Safety Committee
  • Utilize E-Main for inventory accumulation and system development for plant spare parts including determination of quantities, reorder points and minimum and maximum levels
  • Utilize the Work Order system for the assignment of action, determination of priorities, and administrative document requirements
  • Manage the Engineering Drawing System, Engineering Change System, ECODS program in regards to engineering input segments, and the reports on seamer service trips
  • Manage the packaging development process as it relates to carton size development
  • Identify and qualify equipment vendors and contractors when required
  • Respond to manufacturing questions to improve current processes and/or make repairs to equipment
  • Manage, from conceptual creation to final implementation, complex technical projects involving multiple pieces of equipment, multiple processes, and personnel from different departments
  • Develop and maintain computerized maintenance records for all plant equipment
  • Attend mechanical meetings prepared to report on department projects as well as present ideas for improvements or upgrades in equipment and operations
  • Be attuned to technological advances in the equipment or methods used to produce our products
  • Manage Lockout/Tagout process and approval for all company individual equipment
  • Interfaces with internal customers (Sales and Production) to address and resolve engineering issues
  • Responsible for training, enforcing and upholding Company and MOSH safety rules and policies
  • Responsible for monitoring and counseling employees to ensure safe work practices
  • Follow company personnel and product safety requirements including standards such as those from SQF and internal GMPs
  • Assist in all plant related projects to achieve company objectives
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Four years' experience in an electromechanical manufacturing facility
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at one time
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deal with problems in a sensitive, sensible, and organized manner
  • Must be computer literate
