As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be an onsite employee working with the ETG Powertrain group. This is a pivotal role in developing innovative proof-of-concept prototypes and advancing technology evaluation projects for next-generation power tools and systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the future of power tool innovation at Stanley Black & Decker, working on a diverse range of projects from concept to prototype and beyond.

  • Apply fundamental mechanical design principles to work with the team to develop and refine new concepts.
  • Take a hands-on approach working with a small team building, assembling, and testing proof-of-concept prototypes based on emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support technology evaluations and new product development.
  • Work with a small team that partners with and analyzes feedback from end users on new products and design improvements.
  • Provide mechanical engineering support to motors testing and development, including fixture and test development.
  • Create and manage 2D/3D CAD models and engineering documentation using Catia and Windchill.
  • Work with the team to prepare detailed drawings and supporting documents for concepts and prototypes.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is a must.
  • 3+ years of directly related experience.
  • Strong grasp of core mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software (preferably CATIA) and experience managing files/documentation in PLM system preferably Windchill.
  • Demonstrated hands-on skills in prototyping, assembly, and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with prototyping and design for manufacturing used in product development such as CNC machining, 3D printing, injection molding, casting, and sheet metal.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Curiosity and drive to explore new concepts and technologies in power tools.
