We are currently seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this position, you will Design and Engineer custom equipment based on standard product line designs and established engineering guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 0-5 years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possess the ability to understand how a product is to function from a theoretical point of view.
  • Possess the ability to review existing product designs from an engineering point of view and identify the critical components or design features that require engineering calculations.
  • Possess the ability to perform engineering calculations with guidance from immediate supervisor using established engineering guidelines.
  • Possess adequate communication skills to relay clear, concise information to supervisors and co-workers.
  • Possess the ability to learn and implement ANSI and AWS documentation practices for proper drawing dimensions and tolerances and weld symbols.
  • Possess the ability to learn Inventor solid modeling to create solid models of product lines and create drawings from the model.
  • Possess the ability to work on customer orders and assigned projects with supervision.
  • Willing to travel and work occasional overtime when necessary to ensure that deadlines are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Review sales orders with immediate supervisor to identify the required engineering calculations to ensure a reliable design.
  • Modify existing equipment designs based on customer requirements and perform the necessary engineering calculations with guidance to ensure reliable operation in the field.
  • Learn Inventor solid modeling and develop solid models and production drawings of the assigned product line.
  • Learn ANSI documentation practices for dimensioning and tolerances and AWS standards for documenting weld symbols on drawings.
  • Learn to utilize the Vault with established procedures and naming conventions.
  • Produce Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IOM) documents for equipment.
  • Communicate concerns and questions to immediate supervisor.
  • Evaluate equipment issues on the shop floor and in the field with guidance from immediate supervisor.
  • Organize design information to present to immediate supervisor for design review.
  • Travel on occasion.
  • Work overtime as necessary to maintain schedules.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor under supervision.
