The Consultant shall provide professional structural engineering services to support Client Web Services data center projects throughout the Southeast United States. The Consultant must be a registered Structural Professional Engineer with demonstrated experience in tilt-up concrete and precast structures within the light industrial sector. The primary responsibility will be to provide technical oversight of third-party structural engineering vendors during the design and development of data center facilities, ensuring compliance with local building codes, standards, and Basis of Design requirements. The Consultant will actively participate in the design development process by conducting weekly coordination meetings with vendors, performing design reviews at 30, 60, 90, and 100 percent completion milestones, and providing over-the-shoulder guidance throughout the design phase. Additional responsibilities include supporting the resolution of permitting comments, reviewing and approving Issue for Construction drawing sets, and maintaining oversight during the construction phase. Construction phase services include resolving structurally related issues identified in the field, responding to Requests for Information, and reviewing structural submittals in a timely manner to maintain project schedules. The Consultant will serve as a subject matter expert in the continuous development and improvement of the Structural Basis of Design. This includes reviewing and updating template drawings and specifications, identifying opportunities for innovation and value engineering of structural elements, and providing technical recommendations to enhance the BOD. The Consultant shall maintain thorough documentation of all design decisions, modifications, and improvements to support the ongoing evolution of data center structural standards.
