Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or physics is required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in engineering is required.
  • Must have extensive experience in piping analysis using AutoPipe software.
  • Must be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of ASME B31.3 and ASME BPVC section VIII.
  • Must be proficient in design and analysis software (e.g. SolidWorks, ANSYS).
  • Must have experience reviewing and interpreting piping stress analysis reports and design documentation.
  • Must have excellent technical writing skills.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Must be proficient with standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must possess the ability to self-direct with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DOE or DOD security clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent reviews of existing piping designs, support designs, and associated analyses.
  • Identify potential design issues, risks, and areas for improvement in piping systems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve technical concerns.
  • Utilize appropriate regulations, design codes and standards (e.g., ASME) for fluid systems.
  • Generate detailed technical review reports that document findings and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with other interfacing disciplines such as electrical engineers, I&C engineers, mechanical equipment designers, and test engineers.
  • Prepare and present system design results to internal and external stakeholders.
