The Post-Boost Control team is seeking a mechanical engineer staff to serve as the Integrated Product Team's (IPT) requalification lead. You will be responsible for leading the team's requalification efforts and ensuring the design meets our technical and design requirements. The candidate will assist with program planning, funding requests, schedule tracking, qualification plan reviews, providing program status, and driving execution of the individual qualification efforts. The candidate will also support production activities for the gas generator D5LE production. As a mechanical engineer staff on the Post-Boost Control Gas Generator team, you will be responsible for ensuring the design meets our technical and design requirements. You will ensure our designs adhere to Common Integrated Processes as documented in Command Media, and drive process improvement into the design culture. Provide solution based technical mentoring to improve program performance and to drive error free design using proven tools, processes and predictive measures.

Requirements

  • Experience working with external customers and/or suppliers
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide technical and/or programmatic solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Understanding of scheduling and planning to meet contractual milestones and deliverables
  • Practical teamwork skills and/or experience leading a project, contract, or long-term effort.
  • Willingness to engage and understand the technical product baseline

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Production, Solid Rocket Motors, or FBM processes
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and/or OpenPlan software to create and manage Integrated Master Schedules
  • Organized, flexible, have strong interpersonal skills, take initiative, manage multiple tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Previous proposal, Statement-of-Work (SOW), Basis-of-Estimates (BOE), and/or Technical Evaluation (TE) experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues
  • Understanding of Control Account Management (CAM) responsibilities, including Earned Value Management (EVM) and managing performance metrics.
