Learn about the Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer Staff to join our Mechanical Ground Support Equipment team in Cape Canaveral. As our part of the Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) LE2 Team, this candidate will be the technical deputy to the MGSE Architect. Summary of Key Duties: In this role, you will… Participate in LE2 Design Reviews (SDR, PDR, Technical Interchange Meetings, etc.) Review technical information (drawings, models, etc.) and assessing how it may impact MGSE Develop documentation and conduct documentation reviews (FMELs, CDRLs, OD updates, Development Plans, etc.) Support LE2 What - Ifs Our employees working in this level of position typically have 6-9 years of experience. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Exceptional understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.
  • Mechanical design and/or manufacturing experience that includes the use and interpretation of engineering design drawings.
  • Familiarity with engineering CAD tools (ex: Creo) and model based product definition.
  • Experience presenting information to Leadership / Navy partners
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office Products, include Excel, Microsoft Project, and Powerpoint.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules.
  • This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Knowledge or experience with Mechanical Ground Support Equipment

  • Understanding of the LE2 program
  • Understanding of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment
  • Understanding of D5 Missile assembly and handling processes
  • Experience with generating ROMs or proposals
