NOV Pressure Control Group is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer, Sealing Technologies, to join our team at 12000 West Little York Road Houston, TX 77041.   • Design, implement, and support product maintenance of annular blowout preventer packing elements and other types of seals.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on parts removed from field service or on non-conformant parts during manufacturing.
  • Provide support to other departments such as Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Project Engineering, and Project Management.
  • Function as lead on tasks of high complexity.
  • Generate engineering reports and design & development documents.
  • Analyze simulations for rubber flow and sealing devices.
  • Evaluate changes to rubber compound formulations and process settings.
  • Design subsystems, assemblies, and their components to meet customer and internal requirements within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Create bills of materials and oversee creation of drawings to support new designs.
  • Revise engineering documentation for existing designs.
  • Perform validation and verification of designs in accordance with established industry standards and engineering best practices.
  • Analyze designs for reliability, serviceability, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with drafters/designers on design tasks.
  • Cooperate with other engineers on detailed design work.
  • Perform engineering duties at customer sites (infrequently) when required.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Polymer/Rubber/Plastics Engineering.
  • 0 to 5 years of work experience.
  • Experience with pressure control equipment or sealing products preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 3D CAD/Modeling experience.
  • Three days in the office and two days remote work from home after an initial training period.
  • Daily or weekly hands-on work in manufacturing and R&D test facilities located on site or within a two-mile radius.
