About The Position

AVRIDE is an autonomous driving company with the mission to make transportation safer and more efficient through cutting-edge technology. We hold a unique position in the market, developing self-driving taxis and delivery robots. Our delivery robot division already has production in the US and Japan. Our compact team consists of highly talented engineers with extensive expertise. Joining us means diving into a startup atmosphere and making a significant impact on the company's results and the autonomous industry as a whole. As a Backend Engineer on our Autonomous Delivery team, you’ll build and maintain the core backend systems that connect our cloud platform with autonomous vehicles. You’ll develop reliable Go services, integrate with internal and external systems, and ensure stable performance even over unreliable networks. You’ll collaborate closely with infrastructure and robotics teams, troubleshoot production issues, and help improve the tools and APIs that keep our delivery platform running smoothly at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics/Manufacturing or equivalent. Foreign Equivalent is accepted.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or similar;
  • 5+ years designing high-volume electromechanical products for robotics/automotive.
  • 5+ years with SolidWorks or Creo; strong 2D drawings to GD&T and PDM/PLM practices.
  • 2+ completed IP67–IP68 embedded-compute enclosure programs (Jetson-class) with demonstrated thermal validation.
  • End-to-end integration of cameras/radars/lidars and implementation of optical cleaning systems.
  • Design and deployment of production test fixtures for PCBs and sealed assemblies.
  • Validation experience with ISO 20653/IEC 60529 and ISO 16750 / MIL-STD-810.
  • Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.

Responsibilities

  • Design robot mechanical sub-assemblies (chassis, drive interfaces, structural brackets) and mechanical interfaces to power systems and electronics.
  • Develop sensor boxes for AV/AMR: field-of-view (FOV) optimization; contamination control and optical cleaning systems.
  • Design sealed electromechanical enclosures (IP67–IP68) with thermal paths for NVIDIA Jetson AGX / AGX Orin / Orin Nano; engineered for vibration/shock and harsh environments.
  • Create production test fixtures for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and sealed assemblies (pressure/leak, functional tests) with basic automation (Python).
  • Perform thermal, structural, and kinematic analyses; produce 2D drawings to GD&T; manage PDM/PLM; drive NPI → mass production.
  • Lead supplier collaboration (US/Asia): DFM/DFA for injection molding, aluminum die casting, sheet metal/CNC; sample reviews and engineering change implementation.
