This position is for the Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) program, one of Lockheed Martin's best-in-class Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, as well as a minimum of 3 years of prior Principal Engineer or delegate experience
  • Experience in propulsion subsystems, preferably rockets and/or satellite attitude control systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret Clearance (not required prior to starting)

Nice To Haves

  • Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience
  • Experience with FBM processes and products
  • Experience with systems engineering, specifically requirements decomposition
  • Experience in early engineering development (SRR/PDR phase)
  • Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very sophisticated problems and implement constructive change
  • Experience throughout the engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test, and operational deployment)
  • Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts
  • Experience in areas of cost analysis, schedule, and risk & opportunity management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and initiative

Responsibilities

  • Represent the PBCS IPT at program level reviews of technical scope
  • Ensure the PBCS subsystem meets all subsystem level requirements
  • Coordinate the PBCS interfaces with other subsystems
  • Develop technical requirements
  • Lead a team in development of a high profile proposal
  • Contribute to new business trade studies
  • Enhance cross discipline product development
  • Participate in mentorship opportunities and professional development
  • Be the technical interface to FBM management, systems engineering, quality, and our Navy counterparts.
