About The Position

John Crane is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to prepare and perform specific development programs for customer-driven Dry Gas Sealing applications. This role includes developing plans, test specifications, design generation, qualification testing, and report generation. The engineer will provide technical input and guidance to projects regarding the design, performance, procurement, manufacturing, and testing of Dry Gas Sealing products for turbomachinery equipment. Responsibilities also include preparing correspondence and technical engineering reports, utilizing CAD software to produce 3D models and assemblies, supporting troubleshooting of product performance or production difficulties, and performing and monitoring tests to validate results against theoretical analysis. The engineer will independently upskill knowledge on relevant topics, project manage development programs, and deliver detailed technical presentations to customers to support sales and training initiatives. Additionally, the role involves performing mechanical design and Finite Element Analyses (FEA) and training new or junior engineers with engineering tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of related experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Working knowledge of CAD, 3D modelling & 2D drawing software.
  • Strong FEA skills.
  • Outstanding creativity, vision, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work hands-on.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration and feedback.
  • Ability to self-manage projects ensuring on-time delivery.
