As a nuclear stress engineer on the Mechanical Piping Team, this professional will function as a technical specialist or in a lead role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead design execution efforts, along with: Perform, verify, and direct others to perform piping stress analysis to ensure conformance to ASME Section III, ASME B31.1, and associated ASME Standards, as well as both client and jurisdictional requirements for nuclear pressure piping. Detailed stress analysis of metallic piping, evaluating conditions such as: elevated temperature service, piping loads at sensitive equipment such as steam turbines, pumps, compressors/expanders and air-cooled heat exchangers, pulsating service, flow-induced vibration, and transient loads. Ability to coordinate work between domestic and international offices. Assigns tasks to and coordinates with other internal/external team members on complex projects. Initiates contact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the work. Prepare purchase specifications and administer pipe support purchase order contracts with domestic and international suppliers. Preparation and qualification of pipe support designs satisfying all code and project requirements. Actively seeks to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership. Expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas and provide mentoring and training to junior engineers. Travel to job sites for walkdowns and hanger inspections for both existing and new-build facilities.
