About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineering (MEP) Forensic Expert, you will investigate mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC incidents. You will analyze engineering procedures, applying your comprehensive knowledge of standards and practices, write clear, scientifically sound reports, and provide expert testimony. Typical cases include system benchmarking disputes, project delays, cost overruns, environmental contamination, or property damage related to the release of water or other chemicals. Personal injury casework varies, but often includes scalding injuries, carbon monoxide poisonings, or exposures to hazardous materials. You will delve into the 'why' behind incidents, critically assessing decision-making, operational procedures, and the standard of care. This role offers you a chance to use your cumulative training, experience, and critical thinking skills, collaborate with highly respected experts, continuously learn and grow, and make a tangible difference.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• P.E. license.
• 10+ years of industry experience in startup, commissioning, maintenance, or operation of Mechanical, HVAC, and Plumbing Systems.
• 10+ years of experience reviewing, designing, assessing Mechanical, HVAC, and Plumbing Systems in facilities/building systems.
• Ability to work under and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel about 20% on average.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to drive.
• Prior forensic experience is not required.
