About The Position

Internship Program Students eligible to participate in our summer internship program must be Juniors or Seniors and have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Start and end dates will be determined based on the selected candidate’s school schedule. Interns are expected to work 10 weeks (at 40 hours per week). During our summer internship program, you will be given assignments that expand on the skills you have developed in school and provide on the job experience. What can we offer you? Requirements

  • Pursuing a BA/BS degree in relevant program
  • Demonstrated skills and competency in relevant field
  • Strong analytical skills: must be able to breakdown problems and identify methods to solve those problems
  • Must be curious, with a natural drive to learn and understand
  • Must be a team player with the ability to develop strong working relationships and partnerships across different departments and with customers
  • A strong business sense – person needs the ability to understand market problems and opportunities
  • Entrepreneurial drive to take ownership of a task and execute to achieve the desired outcome
  • A strong service orientation with a “how can I help?” approach
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have above average technical aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Design of mechanical components, assemblies, and packaging
  • Generate concepts for Midtronics products
  • 3D modeling and design for manufacturing (DFM), specifically injection molding parts
  • Modify existing 3D models
  • Create mechanical engineering design specifications
  • Perform both new product development and product maintenance activities
  • Create 2D drawings, check and release
  • Validate samples and products
  • Follow internal operating procedures and standards
  • Adhere to schedules for mechanical design projects
  • Create and maintain proper mechanical component validation & documentation
  • Create and issue Product Change Notifications
  • Write inspection reports
  • Participate in design teams and owning product outcomes
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the work product exceeds expectations Work closely with quality and manufacturing departments
  • Follow established procedures and best practices
