AlpHa Measurement Solutions is experiencing aggressive growth through a global platform consolidation and recognizes a need to continuously strengthen its product development capabilities to meet increased demand and support continued growth. We are establishing a Product Engineering Summer Internship to contribute meaningfully to our Engineering and Operations Departments and develop future engineers. Interns will gain exposure and contribute to product design and product management functions as well as product manufacturing analysis and manufacturing software systems including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software. At AlpHa Measurement Solutions, we make analytical sensors and instruments that are essential to everyday life. What we do matters; our products are used to test and monitor water quality in industrial, health, and safety applications worldwide. Our sensors are critical for wastewater and drinking water processing, environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical (vaccine) manufacturing, food & beverage supply, power generation, and many other fundamental applications. Municipalities, multinational organizations, and system integrators rely upon our sensors as critical, consumable components of their systems around the globe. We at AlpHa understand the important role we play in ensuring safe drinking water, clean aqueous environments, and the general health and safety of communities worldwide. The Product Engineering Interns will be responsible for assisting the engineering and operation teams with product development and management functions such as bill of material creation and validation, manufacturing labor analysis, assembling drawing package creation, and product configuration in ERP. We are accepting applications from individuals pursuing a Bachelor’s degree program in Industrial or Mechanical engineering.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering
  • Ability to read Engineering CAD drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking capabilities
  • Must be conversant in English, for safe and effective performance of the job

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using SolidWorks/AUTOCAD is highly requested.

Responsibilities

  • Bill of Materials Creation and Validation – Review drawing packages to validate and/or generate engineering bill of materials and routing based upon assembly and work instructions and product design specification.
  • ERP Routing – Coordinate with operational management to develop and implement manufacturing routing for products.
  • Product Data Management – Create a component library using SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management) software
