Applied Materials’ Austin Engineering Department is searching for an intern to join our team in summer 2026! Research and rapid development group designing, procuring, testing, and iterating prototype parts as part of a team including physicists, EEs, and software experts. The position will entail the following:

  • CAD modeling in Creo or Solidworks
  • Mechanical design and FEA of components
  • Working with suppliers on rapid prototyping and best manufacturing methods
  • Designing experiments to test prototype assembly and iterate/improve design as needed
  • Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering
  • Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Quick learner
  • Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing preferred
