Mechanical Engineer Intern - Mission Critical

The Buildings Group at GBA is welcoming engineering students to join our team as interns for Mission Critical Group in Lenexa, KS. Our Mission Critical group is a collaborative team of engineers and architects focused on the design of mechanical and electrical systems within the data center and telecommunications industries. Mission Critical offers the opportunity to work within an integrated team of architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, project managers, and construction managers.
Requirements
- Pursuing BS or MS in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering or other related field from accredited program
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and Excel software is preferred
- 2.7 GPA strongly preferred
- Finished at least two years of school
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to sit, stand, climb, and work on active construction sites for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Comfort working at heights using ladders, scaffolds, or stairs
Nice To Haves
- Prior internship and/or related experience is a plus
- Involvement in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/or organizations
Responsibilities
- Prepare construction documents for various systems
- Review shop drawings and RFIs
- Verify permitting and code requirements
- Conduct facility evaluations and engineering studies
- Assist with troubleshooting and commissioning
- Perform other fun duties as assigned
