About The Position

Collaborate with design and engineers to create CAD models and develop high TRL level prototypes for testing and a delivery to customers. Prepares detailed design layouts of new complex solid-state electrical products with supervisory direction. Provides design calculations in general i.e.: spring calculations, bearing life, etc with supervisory direction. Research and specify necessary system design components. Maintaining drawing revision control practices and proper file structure management good practices. Provides solutions to difficult problems through the application of diverse engineering techniques & practices. Creation system BOM tables for project build and forecasting final component costs, lead times and Est. weights. Preferred understanding of basic electrical knowledge to create & maintain 1 line electrical diagrams. Produce diagrams, graphics and technical descriptions for proposals. Assist in building, trouble shooting, and solving mechanical & electrical issues during build/test operations. Support the review, consideration, of MCAD / PDM software for designer role. Support streamlining of CAD model parametrization and standardization across product groups. Integrate Model-based engineering principles and best practices in components design. Author procedures, guidelines, and best practices as necessary, and participate in internal and external knowledge sharing sessions.

Requirements

  • Student in Mechanical Engineering with preferred knowledge of electrical circuits / packaging
  • 1 year of experience
  • Knowledge of prototype / pilot product engineering with emphasis on MCAD and power electronics packaging experience
  • Familiar with ECAD design software export / Import processes
  • Experience in the mechanical systems and components design for automotive and/or aerospace
  • Working knowledge of CAD packages including PTC Creo and/or Autodesk Inventor
  • Understanding of MFG processes / how parts are made
  • Good knowledge and experience in Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel, PPT and Visio programs
  • Willingness to learn and support team members to achieve the project goals
  • Good English communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
  • Experience presenting value proposition of new technologies
