EOTECH is a young, innovative company that employs advanced laser and holographic technology to enhance optical systems in the sporting optics world. - Visit us on the web at: http://www.eotechinc.com - Paid Internship, Full-time, and Unique 9/80 schedule The engineering team at EOTECH is involved in the entire design process, from bid & proposal through design and manufacturing and into volume production. The Mechanical Engineering intern will support a wide variety of projects that provide a challenging hands-on experience. Some of the projects may include, but are not limited to the design, prototyping, evaluation and testing phase of new product development or enhancement projects. This position is for summer 2018. The candidate will work under the guidance of the Product Design Engineers to perform prescribed engineering tasks in the product design department. The ability to perform basic mechanical design/drafting using Solid Works is preferred. Coordination with local machine shops may be necessary to have prototype parts fabricated or modified.

Requirements

  • Interest or experience with imaging systems, lasers, sensors, cameras, etc.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and scripting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills.
  • Proactive work ethic and energy.
  • Effective team member and contributor.
  • Bachelor’s degree in progress in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with sophomore year completed.
  • Pursuing BS in Engineering with 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks or other 3D design tool, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification and reference checks.
  • With or without reasonable accommodation, requires the physical and mental capacity to perform effectively all essential functions. In addition to other demands.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • US citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience with SolidWorks simulation / FEA is desired.
