About The Position

Simco-Ion Technology Group a division of ITW is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 to join our engineering team. This internship offers hands-on experience in mechanical design, testing, and product development within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is a student entering their junior or senior year, majoring in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a strong interest in applying classroom knowledge to real-world projects.

Requirements

  • I am currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Entering junior or senior year by Summer 2026 with a 3.0+ GPA
  • Familiarity with CAD software specifically Solid Works Required, with PDM add on experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical components and systems.
  • Support engineering team in developing CAD, and Solid Works models, drawings, and documentation.
  • Participate in prototype assembly and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and product improvements.
  • Conduct research on materials, manufacturing processes, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
