About The Position

The Conair Summer Internship Program is designed to provide exceptional students with a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the diverse business operations at Conair. Those selected will gain invaluable work experience through challenging project assignments and on the job learning experiences. Join our dynamic team at Cuisinart as a Mechanical Engineer Intern, supporting the product development of innovative kitchen appliances. You'll gain hands-on experience working cross-functionally from concept through early production, helping deliver high-quality, consumer-driven solutions.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled and a rising senior in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong CAD skills (e.g., SolidWorks, Pro/E) and a working knowledge of mechanical part design and manufacturing fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including design, engineering, and marketing.
  • Self-motivated with a detailed-oriented mindset, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • You should be a current college student, entering your senior year in the fall of 2026.
  • The internship program will run from June 1, 2026, through August 7, 2026.
  • Interns will work Monday through Friday on a 37.5-hour work week schedule, which includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
  • We require candidates to maintain excellent academic standing.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, is a must.
  • As part of our hybrid work model, interns are expected to be present in the office 4 days a week with Friday being a work from anywhere day.
  • Please note that Conair does not provide housing for summer interns.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in mechanical design of kitchen appliance components including mechanisms, assemblies, and motion systems, from conceptual sketches to CAD models.
  • Support prototype build-ups, testing, and evaluation of mechanical performance, including gathering data and summarizing findings for iteration.
  • Collaborate with industrial design, electrical engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure mechanical integrity, manufacturability, and consumer usability.
  • Help define and document mechanical specifications (materials, tolerances, finishes) and prepare handoff packages for production partners.
  • Engage in benchmarking, competitor analysis, and user-feedback review to surface insights that inform mechanical design improvements.
  • Participate in cross-functional reviews and design sprints, contributing mechanical engineering perspective to elevate product functionality and user experience.
