About The Position

The position involves leading or supporting the mechanical design and integration of electromagnetic rotating machines, such as AC/DC motors and generators. The role requires the development and validation of mechanical components, preparation of detailed 3D CAD models, and conducting mechanical analyses to optimize performance and reliability. Collaboration with electrical engineers is essential to ensure seamless integration, and participation in material selection and qualification plans is expected. The position also includes supporting manufacturing and troubleshooting on the shop floor, contributing to root-cause investigations, and driving continuous improvement in design and testing processes. Mentorship of junior engineers and adherence to safety protocols are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience with mechanical design and support of electromagnetic rotating machines in aerospace or related industries.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks), GD&T, and mechanical analysis (FEA tools such as ANSYS).
  • Solid understanding of material properties relevant to electrical machines.
  • Experience in testing and validation of generators, motors, or similar equipment.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic principles and their intersection with mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communicator and team player, with proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to interpret complex information and convey a simplified message.
