About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineer III, you will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and supporting aircraft repair procedures in accordance with aircraft manufacturer instructions, approved data, and applicable regulatory requirements. In this role, you will support both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities by creating repair dispositions, engineering instructions, and technical substantiation for aircraft and component repairs. You will work closely with maintenance, inspection, quality, and program teams to ensure repairs are technically sound, compliant with manufacturer data, and executable in a Part 145 repair station environment. Your work will directly support the continued airworthiness and safe return to service of customer aircraft.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Demonstrated experience developing repair procedures for in-service aircraft in accordance with aircraft manufacturer instructions.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structures, mechanical systems, and materials (metallic and composite).
  • Ability to interpret and apply Manufacturer Maintenance Manuals, Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Service Bulletins, Service Letters, Airworthiness Directives, drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Parts 21, 23/25 (as applicable), 43, and 145.
  • Ability to generate clear, concise engineering documentation suitable for execution by maintenance personnel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • To conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.

Nice To Haves

  • FAA CRS 145 Repair Station experience
  • Background in General and/or Corporate Aviation
  • Experience with maintenance tracking database software applications such as CAMP Systems, Corridor, Cescom, CMP and AvTrak
