About The Position

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, planning, designing, and developing mechanical products and systems such as Robot Risers, Safety Gates, Modifications to existing MHE devices, System Layouts, Installation Drawings Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication. Position Description: Creation or review of mechanical drawings Change management (documentation and part number release). Generate concepts for improved designs and processes Set up and configure various components, including industrial robots, demo cells, end effectors, cameras, lighting, compressed air systems, robot controllers, and vision systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality Conduct engaging robot systems demonstrations for our valued customers, showcasing the capabilities of our cutting-edge technologies and providing technical explanations Offer technical support for systems deployed to remote customer sites, ensuring smooth operation and addressing any issues that may arise promptly and effectively Assist in the installation and configuration of the Mujin controller and other equipment at customer sites, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems and troubleshooting any compatibility or connectivity issues Utilize your mechanical engineering expertise to design and create custom metal parts for fabrication, such as robot hands, robot cells, robot pedestals, demo frames, camera mounting plates, and vacuum gripper parts, ensuring optimal performance and reliability Managing projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision Coaching and reviewing the work of junior professionals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering Degree plus 5 years relevant experience
  • Proficiency in industrial mechanical design, with the ability to generate CAD models or system layouts.
  • Ability to read and interpret specification sheets, as well as procure necessary mechanical components from suppliers, ensuring adherence to project requirements and specifications

Nice To Haves

  • Robotics and Automation experience strongly desired
  • Experience in the safeguarding, maintenance, and manipulation of industrial robots, ensuring their optimal performance and safety in various applications
  • Familiarity with AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD is a plus, allowing you to effectively design and optimize robotic systems
  • Hands-on experience with the creation of tasks for six and seven-axis robot arms, conveyor belt systems, industrial sensors, manufacturing processes, CNC, robotic tooling, and related areas, enabling you to design and optimize complex robotic workflows
  • Previous work experience in design and research, and development within a manufacturing or logistics-related company, providing valuable insights and expertise in implementing robotic solutions in real-world settings
