Our systems combine advanced technologies in pressure vessel design, material handling, automation, and integrated control systems. Salary range: $86,000 - $100,000 based on experience. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer II to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate requires expert‑level SolidWorks proficiency, strong command of engineering drawing standards, and advanced knowledge of vacuum and thermal design principles. The engineer leads design efforts from concept through completion, evaluates customer requirements, prepares detailed manufacturing documentation, and conducts technical design reviews. Success in this role relies on strong problem‑solving abilities, effective project and time management, and clear communication with both internal teams and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and comprehensive knowledge of engineering drawing standards.
  • Advanced understanding of design for vacuum and thermal applications.
  • Proven problem-solving, design optimization, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for team collaboration and customer communication.
  • Effective project management and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Independently design and optimize complex mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with engineering drawing standards.
  • Leverage advanced SolidWorks skills to create detailed 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
  • Analyze customer proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess design feasibility.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive design reviews, ensuring clear and effective customer communication.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of vacuum and thermal design principles in developing solutions.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving and design optimization skills to enhance performance, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability.
  • Demonstrate effective project management through proficient time management and task prioritization.
  • Foster strong team collaboration with cross-functional departments and support procurement activities by requisitioning long-lead items and BOM elements.
  • Occasionally travel for customer site evaluations and field installations.
