About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team, leading the mechanical design and engineering of innovative consumer products from concept through production. In this role, you will use Creo CAD software to design functional and manufacturable components, mechanisms, and assemblies, ensuring alignment with performance, cost, and aesthetic goals. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, manufacturing partners, and external vendors to refine designs, coordinate prototyping, and support tooling and production readiness. This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer with strong expertise in CAD modeling, plastic part design, and injection molding processes. A proven track record in consumer product development and experience mentoring others are highly valued.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a related hard goods field, ideally in the consumer products industry
  • Bachelor's degree is required, preference for a Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology degree
  • Demonstrated excellence in CAD modeling software developing products (both mechanical design and styling surfaces); preference for PTC Creo or Fusion360
  • Strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail to ensure timely execution of projects and ability to set and prioritize goals
  • Working knowledge of injection molding plastic parts and injection molding tooling
  • Capable of working well in a multi-disciplinary team environment with a high degree of collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • Experience dealing with overseas manufacturing factories preferred
  • Experience being a team lead or mentor to junior staff a plus

Responsibilities

  • Using Creo CAD software, work collaboratively to take new products from concept stage through tooling data release and production.
  • Design parts for function, appearance, manufacturability, cost, and ease of assembly and design mechanisms, closures, seals, or anything pertaining to the function of the product.
  • Devise and perform testing on prototypes, pre-production, and production products.
  • Produce accurate and complete document packages to ensure design intent is carried through commercialization.
  • Work with our Asian manufacturing partners and tooling shops to refine mechanical designs for manufacturability and ensure quality.
  • Coordinate functional prototypes and appearance models of new products with third party partners.
  • Work cross collaboratively to meet product performance and cost requirements and aid in customer documentation requirements.
  • Use hands-on shop skills to build mock-ups, prototype mechanisms, and assemble models.
  • Perform work under minimal supervision, and provide thoughtful insight on continued process improvements.
