The Mechanical Engineer II is a pivotal role within our engineering management function, responsible for a variety of activities that support the design and development of major engineering systems. This position requires collaboration with engineering management, production, and sales teams to establish innovative design concepts. The Mechanical Engineer II will engage in complex tasks, having already mastered most basic job duties, and will be expected to contribute significantly to the engineering projects at hand. In this role, the engineer will design and develop mechanical components and systems for both new and existing products. It is essential that all documentation is meticulously generated and maintained to ensure that Production and Quality teams can effectively build and test the products. The Mechanical Engineer II will work closely with manufacturing engineering and sustaining engineering teams to resolve any issues that arise with current products, ensuring a seamless integration of design and production processes. The position also involves acting as a project engineer or technical lead on smaller scope projects, under supervision. The engineer will collaborate with production teams and vendors to understand process capabilities, aiming to develop ideas that reduce costs while improving product quality. Exposure to complex tasks will include working alongside Software and Electrical Engineers, as well as other disciplines, to develop comprehensive solutions that meet project requirements, particularly focusing on mechanical components and systems. Additionally, the Mechanical Engineer II may work on products that require higher-level analysis, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and will take responsibility for creating technical designs for small features. The engineer is expected to maintain the highest achievable 5S ratings throughout all areas of responsibility and to always consider the company’s Green Initiative when planning activities, procuring supplies, or disposing of materials. Adherence to the organization’s Code of Conduct is mandatory, and the engineer may be assigned other duties and tasks as needed.
