We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II - IV to join our team in Chicago, IL. Working in any of three offices, you will contribute to the design of major projects from various markets and from around the world. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an Accredited Institution
  • 18 months - 7+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field
  • Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required
  • Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Excel and Word
  • Possesses a basic understanding of proper system selection
  • Exhibits a thorough understanding of applicable codes
  • Project management experience
  • EIT required PE preferred.
  • Ability to use REVIT for system layout and spatial coordination of the production of detailed drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • LEED accreditation, preferred
  • Someone who exhibits a basic understanding of the practical application of LEED principles to our building designs would be a good fit for this dynamic role.
  • History of working with projects such as Aviation, Federal, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in various trade organizations and prepare presentations.
  • As appropriate, manages CAD/BIM and other technical staff that is assigned for particular project or task as directed by the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
  • Assists with employee reviews as requested.
  • Estimates construction costs and to evaluate feasibility of construction using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)
  • Writes engineering proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or senior designer for projects
