The Mechanical Engineer I will support the design, simulation, prototyping, and testing of mechanical components and assemblies that contribute to the performance, reliability, and usability of our products. As a member of a multidisciplinary R&D team, you'll assist in developing precision mechanical subsystems for cryogenic and vacuum-based instrumentation. This role supports new product introductions, custom development, and sustaining engineering efforts, with a focus on learning, collaboration, and quality.

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems
  • Support engineering tasks throughout the development cycle-from concept and simulation to prototyping, testing, and release
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, reports, and test procedures
  • Participate in analysis, prototyping, and validation testing to ensure performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, firmware, and manufacturing engineers to integrate mechanical designs into complex systems
  • Communicate effectively with project management and manufacturing teams to support development and production goals
  • Contribute to technical design reviews and provide feedback to improve quality and manufacturability
  • Manage assigned tasks and support project deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic R&D environment
  • Learn and apply best practices in mechanical design, simulation, and precision instrumentation
  • Stay engaged with emerging technologies and engineering tools relevant to mechanical product development
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-3 years experience in mechanical design and product development
  • Foundational understanding of engineering principles including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for modeling and drawing creation
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and contribute to project goals in a fast-paced environment
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a hands-on engineering role
  • Familiarity with mechanical drawing standards and basic manufacturing practices
  • Exposure to ERP systems or engineering documentation workflows
  • Interest in cross-disciplinary integration and systems-level thinking
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Internship or academic project experience with mechanical design or prototyping
  • Exposure to vacuum or cryogenic systems
  • Experience with vibration analysis or mechanical simulation tools (e.g., FEA)
  • Hands-on experience in a machine shop or fabrication environment
  • Familiarity with scientific instrumentation or high-precision mechanical systems
