About The Position

As the Mechanical Engineer I, you will recommend improvements in processes, methods, and productivity. You will be responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and specification of manufactured product. This position impacts the processes of New Product Development, efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing, and the quality of product produced. You will do this by: Leading and/or participating in cross functional teams to ensure the ongoing improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality, while reducing cost. Supporting Operations by designing assembly fixtures, tools, and/or any specialized equipment needed for production. Focusing on Lean Manufacturing and TAKT attainment though both design and manufacturing process improvement. Reading and interpreting electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical bulletins. Producing detailed drawings utilizing SolidWorks CAD software. Providing technical support to Operations and Sales to trouble-shoot and resolve equipment and/or process issues. Supporting New Product Development processes.

Requirements

  • Ability to collaborate and effectively interact with others at all levels to achieve results.
  • Ability to work in a team with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to be perform with a sense of urgency in an organized, detail orientated manner.
  • A hands-on mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of GD&T standards and methods.
  • Ability to wear required PPE.
  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent and 5+ years of experience.
  • Mathematical proficiency; includes but is not limited to calculating proportions, percentages, areas, ratios, circumference, and volume. Apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry and trigonometry.
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks software and Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 -5 years' experience preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing and exposure to shop floor processes preferred.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in assembly and installation of truck and cargo equipment with exposure to shop floor processes.

Responsibilities
