The Test Solutions team is responsible for the design and development of test equipment hardware and software to support a wide range of RF products including Radar and Electronic Warfare systems. This position would be part of a multi-discipline team consisting of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and test software engineers working together to deliver complex technical solutions in the support of an advanced manufacturing site. The Test Solutions team is actively hiring a Mechanical Engineer I to join the team onsite in Forest, MS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
  • Course work in energy systems (thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, etc.)
  • Experience with mechanical systems specifically thermal/fluid systems
  • Experience in working within a team environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electrical systems including reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting electrical circuits
  • Previous internship experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • Experience in 3-D modeling software, such as Solid Works, Creo, etc.
  • Experience with mechanical systems specifically thermal/fluid systems) and electrical systems (reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting electrical circuits)
  • Be a hands-on person with ability to work with production equipment

Responsibilities

  • Support the manufacturing and testing of complex Radar and Electronic Warfare systems by developing environmental stress screening (ESS) equipment used in the testing of these systems. Examples of equipment you will be working with include thermal chambers, thermal liquid chillers, and electrodynamic and pneumatic vibration machines
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the manufacturing facility to help maintain a high standard for equipment availability
  • Perform thermal and vibration surveys on production hardware and analyze results to validate that that the desired ESS profile is being achieved
  • Support mechanical design (through 3-D modeling software) and build of test equipment and holding fixtures
