As a Mechanical Engineer I, you will support the design, development, testing, and deployment of mechanical structures and systems in the aerospace and defense sectors. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and deliver innovative mechanical solutions, ensuring high-quality performance throughout the product lifecycle. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role.
  • Must have been a SNC Summer 2025 Intern
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or project experience in aerospace or defense industry.
  • Familiarity with applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
  • Knowledge of environmental requirements for components utilized in aircraft and space applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems.
  • Support the creation and execution of test plans for mechanical products.
  • Perform basic analyses and simulations to validate designs.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports for review.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design requirements are met.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design and testing issues.
