Mechanical Engineer I (For SNC Summer 2025 Interns Only)

As a Mechanical Engineer I, you will support the design, development, testing, and deployment of mechanical structures and systems in the aerospace and defense sectors. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and deliver innovative mechanical solutions, ensuring high-quality performance throughout the product lifecycle. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role.
- Must have been a SNC Summer 2025 Intern
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
Nice To Haves
- Internship or project experience in aerospace or defense industry.
- Familiarity with applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
- Knowledge of environmental requirements for components utilized in aircraft and space applications.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems.
- Support the creation and execution of test plans for mechanical products.
- Perform basic analyses and simulations to validate designs.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports for review.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design requirements are met.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design and testing issues.
