The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, & reporting of lab tests for the Adhesives Engineering and Marketing business groups in support of product development activities. This entry-level position is intended to acquire product & application knowledge in preparation for future roles in areas such as design, manufacturing, and/or field support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Skilled in test set-up, testing, instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Self starter.
• Enjoys problem solving.
• Enjoys teamwork.
• Mechanically inclined.

Responsibilities

• Conducts tests that allow the engineering team to make a decision as to which designs best meet customer's needs.
• Proposes test plans, including but not limited to the identification of: components, layouts, procedures, and instrumentation.
• Assembles the test setup and conducts the test. Records and compiles all test data.
• Able to efficiently identify and organize pertinent data to draw conclusions against the test objective.
• Critically evaluates product performance, including results that may not been anticipated.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills; succinctly explains results such that the design team can quickly understand and act on the findings.
• Performs other duties as assigned in support of product development activities.
• Ability to work in a lab environment.
