The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Mechanical engineer responsible to provide engineering support to ensure department equipment (cranes, doors, platforms, elevators) is properly maintained and able to support KSC operations. Engineer will develop work authorization documents (WADs) for department equipment to include maintenance job plans, operational job plans, and non-conformance/repair job plans. Provides troubleshooting support for equipment as required and performs task team leader responsibilities when necessary. Although this is considered a 1st shift position, 2nd and 3rd shift work as well as overtime will be required.
