Review, approve, and stamp mechanical drawings and specifications (where applicable). Develop and maintain sitespecific design criteria and mechanical engineering standards in collaboration with Facilities Operations, EHS, and D&C. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for mechanical system issues and develop corrective/preventive action plans. Facilities Systems Management Oversee mechanical systems for semiconductor facilities, including: Scrubbed exhaust systems RO/DI PCW WWT HVAC (MAU, AHU, chillers, boilers, cleanroom air systems) BMS/SCADA controls and monitoring Evaluate existing and emerging mechanical technologies to reduce operating cost, improve capacity, increase redundancy, and enhance system reliability. Support critical system investigations and recovery actions to safely restore operations. Commissioning & Startup Lead commissioning efforts—including prefunctional checklists, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and acceptance for mechanical and utility systems. Validate sequence of operations and ensure alignment with site requirements and codes. Work with vendors and IFM partners to ensure proper turnover documentation including as-builts, SOOs, O&M manuals, balance reports, warranty files, and closeout packages. Capacity Planning & Infrastructure Upgrades Model system capacity, redundancy, and growth curves; identify constraints and propose expansion strategies. Conduct building condition assessments, develop lifecycle investment recommendations, and support major asset replacements. Identify and execute safety, compliance, capacity, redundancy, and cost saving initiatives across multiple facilities. IFM & Vendor Oversight Interact with and direct 3rdparty IFM providers to ensure proper operations and maintenance of mechanical, FLS, exhaust, and controls systems. Validate adherence to SOPs, PM programs, and contract requirements. Support incident investigations, close leading indicator gaps, and reinforce a proactive safety culture. Deep expertise in mechanical engineering, with broad understanding of electrical, controls, and process utility systems. Comprehensive knowledge of California Building, Mechanical, Plumbing codes, Title 24, NFPA, and environmental requirements. Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, Project), and preferred experience with Revit/BIM, SCADA platforms (GE Cimplicity), and CMMS systems (Maximo). Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electromechanical systems including pneumatics, robotics interfaces, vacuum systems, and cleanroom support equipment. 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, or comparable high tech/industrial environments. Experience with contract management, vendor oversight, bid reviews, and negotiation. Ability to evaluate budgets, contribute to fiscal planning, and support financial governance. Anticipates regulatory changes and recommends facility modifications accordingly. Leads cross functional technical projects with notable risk/complexity. Highly effective at multitasking and rapid response in operational events. Develops execution strategies for engineering tasks, upgrades, and system transitions.
