About The Position

Genesis Engineering Solutions (GES) is a leading provider of innovative engineering services, specializing in aerospace solutions that meet the industry's most demanding standards. As a small, agile contractor, we pride ourselves on providing "big company" impact with a "small company" feel—where every employee’s contribution is visible and valued. We are seeking a motivated entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join our team. You will contribute to the full lifecycle of flight hardware development, from initial concept through design maturation and final delivery. You will join a high-tech team dedicated to unleashing the talents of engineers to solve complex aerospace challenges. Your primary focus will be on developing high-fidelity mechanical designs and digital data packages for critical spacecraft structures, ensuring all technical artifacts meet rigorous industry and quality standards. At Genesis, we don’t work in silos. Our Mechanical Design Engineers and Structural Analysts operate as a unified front to solve the hardest problems in space flight. Iterative Innovation: Our designers use state-of-the-art software to "Dream It," while our analysts provide modeling and simulation to prove "How It Works." The Feedback Loop: You will participate in a constant back-and-forth where analysis results directly inform CAD updates. This ensures our hardware is optimized for launch and beyond. Mission Success: By integrating sizing, mass calculations, and trade studies into the design phase, we deliver high-fidelity solutions that meet stringent NASA and commercial milestones.

Requirements

  • Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrated experience (via internships or coursework) in Computer Aided Design (CAD).
  • Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of mechanical design principles, material properties, and structural mechanics.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow complex requirement documentation driven by regulatory bodies.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interface directly with customers.
  • Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen (due to government contract requirements)

Responsibilities

  • CAD Design & Maturation: Generate and mature high-fidelity design definitions for spacecraft components using PTC CREO.
  • Structural Development: Develop design artifacts for both primary structures (main chassis/frames) and secondary structures (brackets, mounts, and enclosures).
  • Model-Based Design (MBD): Generate and maintain MBD data packages, ensuring all digital definitions are compliant with industry standards.
  • Design Reviews: Prepare and review data packages for completeness as they progress through the design lifecycle.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams—including thermal, electrical, and systems engineering—to ensure integrated mission success.
  • Collaboration: Work under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure all hardware meets stringent spaceflight requirements.
