Mechanical Engineer Co op - BOSS Snowplow
About The Position
BOSS Snowplow (a division of the Toro Company) located in Iron Mountain, Michigan, is a leader in the snow and ice management business with a growing lineup of plows for trucks, UTVs and ATVs, salt and sand spreaders, and box plows built for the snow and ice management professional, as well as the homeowner. With a focus on uncompromising quality and high-level craftsmanship, BOSS has grown to be a leader in the sale of snow and ice equipment. Co-Ops are: May 2026 through December 2026 In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: Assist with design, prototyping, and development of new products and improvements to existing products Conduct required tests, collect data, and analyze results for new or existing products Design tests or test fixtures as needed Recognize and help with problem solving efforts in the Product Development Lab. Work with operations engineers to reduce costs and help improve quality of product
Requirements
- Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with 3D CAD software, Creo Parametric is a plus
- Basics of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting and forming, painting and assembly
- Knowledgeable in Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong leadership skills to lead a project and pull information from others
- Problem solving skills
- Demonstrated computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Creo
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
Nice To Haves
- Basic understanding of hydraulic systems is preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical skills preferred

- Pay range is $22.00 - $28.00 depending on level of college you have completed.
