About The Position

Storion Energy is built on the partnership of two significant players in the long-duration energy storage industry -- Stryten Energy and Largo Inc.. Storion is an innovative flow battery component manufacturer aiming to enable the wide-scale adoption of flow batteries in the long duration energy storage space. Storion's Alpharetta facility is focused on developing the production processes for Vanadium Electrolyte and defining the assembly process of our Stack Power Assemblies. Storion's new production facility and operations lab are located north of Atlanta in Alpharetta, GA. This is a paid Co-Op position with the expectation that students will rotate semesters between work and school. We are looking for Mechanical Engineering students for a Co-Op beginning in the summer of 2026. Summary:Our environment is casual but professional, and our Co-Op's are exposed to senior-level leaders. We don’t want our Co-Op's to sit on the sidelines – we want you to challenge us and provide creative ways to approach projects. Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Sophomore (fall 2025) or higher level standing with a GPA of at least 3.0
  • You must have housing and transportation
  • The position is required to work on-site daily in our Alpharetta office
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills while working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and practical understanding of mechanical design
  • Ability to take a proactive hands-on approach to problem identification, prototyping, iterative design, validation testing, and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

  • Working on process development projects from large-scale modeling to individual work cell design
  • Hands-on testing in the R&D Lab and shop area
  • Data collection, processing, and analysis, and many more exciting and challenging experiences
  • Assembly, testing, debugging, and documentation for mechanical fixtures and devices

  • Assisting in machining/assembling both test parts with new designs and production parts for production
