We have an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer [Casting/Metallurgy] at our aerospace location in Rockford, ILL. The primary focus of this role is to support casting function by forecasting and tracking processes to ensure OTD of parts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/metallurgy or related field or in lieu of degree a minimum of 8 years' experience in casting producibility or similar roles
  • Preferred disciplines include Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Must be able to read blueprints and conceptualize product configurations
  • Additive manufacturing experience helpful
  • Must be a self-starter, manage time effectively and meet deliverable deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate specific requirements with suppliers and monitor the overall development process at supplier end
  • Due to the nature of work being performed you must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Partner with team members to drive casting manufacturer development and project costs
  • Provide engineering technical support for Castings activities therefore reducing casting product cost
  • Develop plans for every part number supporting procurement with supplier decisions and development
