As part of the Buildings Group for Garver, this Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs in support of various Buildings Design Business Line projects. Specifically, this responsibility will include a variety of projects related to leading the planning, design, and commissioning of: Building HVAC system(s) Building plumbing system(s) Building fire protection system(s) Whole building energy modeling Building sustainability requirements reporting In addition, this role will include coordination with other support disciplines, and coordination with regional offices. Assisting project managers in management of projects. Following quality assurance and quality control plans. Periodic travel to project sites will be required. Abilities and attributes needed for this position: Knowledge of mechanical engineering and sustainability principles Mentor and train technical staff. Interfacing with clients on project design, delivery, and construction. Managing project budget and schedule compliance. Overseeing the mechanical design of building projects throughout the project lifecycle from the conceptual phase, design phase, and construction phase. Utilizing BIM design software to produce construction drawings Utilize Microsoft Excel based calculation tools for design calculations Manage multiple assignments concurrently Be responsible for time management and product quality Follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans Be responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the team.
