Assumes engineering responsibility for component, module or subsystem design from concept design through manufacturing transfer and ramp through manufacturing transfer and ramp Performs detailed design and component layout including, BOM, drawings, and procedures for new or improved subsystems and validates concepts through prototype builds and analysis Lead and contribute to the concept, design, development, and test of system modules and integration, including electro-mechanical and optical-mechanical instrumentation Identify/specify parts, components, and assemblies Work with key suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of critical components Using CAD tools and add-on packages to provide thermal analysis, fluid flow patterns, heat transfer, resonant frequencies, deflections, and internal stresses Regular reviews project updates and reviews Operate within a cross functional team, understand the needs and requirements of internal stakeholders as well as external customers Prepare and chair design reviews
