Torch Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 3 to support the Advanced Concepts Engineering (ACE) Technical Development (TD) business unit. The role involves designing MIL-STD compliant systems and components for various platforms, including aviation, ground, and weapon systems. The engineer will be responsible for the design and evaluation of complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, ensuring program success through collaboration with design teams and government customers.

  • Develop efficient, cost-effective, and functional mechanical designs using tools such as SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation.
  • Develop Level III technical data packages for novel mechanical and/or electromechanical designs.
  • Provide mechanical engineering support in re-engineering tasks and support modification work orders and/or engineering change proposals.
  • Generate engineering reports to support engineering analysis, including finite element analyses for structural, thermal, vibration, flow, and multi-physics models.
  • Consider weight and balance during design, incorporating familiarity with metallic and non-metallic materials to enhance safety, longevity, and maneuverability.
  • Support the complete production process by collaborating closely with project engineers, fabricators, technical writers, and program managers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with extensive experience in creating drawings and technical drawing packages.
  • Expertise with SolidWorks is essential.
  • Proven ability to interact professionally and effectively with diverse customers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills to track multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance.
  • Experience in product development, manufacturing, and fabrication.
  • Experience in a shop atmosphere with skills in welding and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Familiarity with ASME standards and experience in ISO or ASO accredited quality programs.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks Simulation or comparable Finite Element Analysis software.
  • Experience with hydraulic system design.
  • Background working with Enterprise Product Data Management tools.
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
