The Mechanical Draftsman position at EMA Engineering & Consulting is an entry-level role designed for individuals with minimal or no design experience. The successful candidate will be expected to learn EMA's design processes, set up projects, and track project deliverables and deadlines while adhering to the company's core values. In this position, the draftsman will be responsible for setting up all project-related documents, including sheets, views, notes, symbols, details, schedules, and diagrams. The candidate will learn to apply EMA's design processes and understand the requirements set by owners and city regulations. Familiarity with code requirements such as NEC, IESNA, and IECC is essential, as is the ability to set up and edit project specifications. The draftsman will also take design criteria, rough sketches, and other inputs to accurately draft systems in the drawings. Effective communication with team members, Team Leaders, and Project Managers is crucial, as is the ability to document field work accurately. This may involve site visits that require physical activity, including driving, extensive walking, and climbing.
