About The Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Mechanical Drafter to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will support the mechanical and engineering departments by creating, maintaining, and updating technical drawings and documentation for parts, assemblies, and equipment. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to grow their drafting skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or certificate in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field — OR equivalent hands-on training
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD (2D drafting required)
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or other 3D CAD platforms
  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Fishbowl)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, or assembly
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel in particular for BOM management)

Responsibilities

  • Create and revise 2D and 3D technical drawings for parts, components, and assemblies using CAD software
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date drawing records within the inventory management system
  • Assist in cataloging and cross-referencing parts with corresponding technical documentation
  • Collaborate with engineers, procurement, and warehouse staff to verify part specifications and inventory data
  • Support the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and parts lists
  • Ensure all drawings meet company standards, tolerances, and formatting requirements
  • Identify and flag discrepancies between physical inventory and documented specifications
  • Perform basic redlines and as-built drawing updates as directed by senior engineers
