About The Position

The Contract Mechanical Drafter will participate in the mechanical design of new and refurbished mechanical systems. This role involves preparing 3D models and 2D drawings from references, sketches, or based on instructions from engineers or designers. The drafter will create drawing-associated material lists, review drawings and material lists to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal design standards, propose design improvements to reduce costs and improve quality, and ensure the timely execution and quality of assigned work.

Requirements

• Design/ Drafting experience.
• Mechanical design knowledge.
• Good knowledge of heavy mechanical equipment, welded structures, manufacturing and machining methods, and drafting rules and practices.
• Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience with design/drafting experience.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Unigraphics NX8.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter.
