At the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division at NAS Patuxent River, MD , SA-TECH supports the Aircraft Instrumentation Division (AID) of the Prototyping, Experimentation, and Instrumentation (PIE) Department and we are currently looking to hire a Mechanical Drafter II. As a Mechanical Drafter II, you’ll apply your learned technical knowledge and skills to prepare detailed working diagrams, drawings, and computer models of mechanical devices, parts, and assemblies, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information. The basic duties of the position include (but are not limited to): Create drawings/models that include various views, sectional profiles, irregular or reverse curves, hidden lines, and small or intricate details. Use most of the conventional drafting and Computer Aided Design (CAD) techniques. Must have a working knowledge of the terms and procedures of the occupation. Perform arithmetic computations using formulas. Perform familiar or recurring work based on assignments given in general terms. Make simple revisions to existing drawings or computer models, often assigned with only a verbal explanation of the desired results. Produce more complex revisions from sketches, computer models, or specifications that clearly depict the desired product. Work Conditions: Conditions will vary but most work will be performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include mostly sitting and/or standing, with some walking, lifting and reaching. Working hours are 0600-1530 (first shift) and 1300-2230 (2nd Shift).
