About The Position

As a Mechanical Development Engineer within Mercury Marine's Test & Development team you will develop fuel and peripheral systems. As a member of the Mechanical Development group, you'll share responsibility for the design, testing, development, and validation of engine fuel, lubrication, cooling, exhaust, valve train and power cylinder systems for Mercury Outboards, MerCruiser Sterndrive engines, and Mercury high-speed diesel marine engines. Requirements

• Minimum B.S Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1+ years of engineering experience working with internal combustion engine fuel and peripheral systems.

Nice To Haves

• M.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years engineering experience working with internal combustion engine fuel and peripheral systems.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation selection.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and test activities for fuel systems along with other peripheral components such as belt drive, intake manifolds, air boxes, etc.
• Understand functional requirements to meet program goals.
• On new product design, work with component engineers and the analysis group to ensure component designs meet the system requirements.
• Develop component & system FMEA, DVP and execute tests, both on the dynamometer and on boat.
• Utilize Concerto / Uniplot / Catman software packages to analyze data and make recommendations for product improvement.
• Communicate test results and recommendations to Design Engineering and Program Management.
• Create technical reports documenting development activities.
• Must be able to work independently when needed to develop solutions with little supervision.
• Must also be able to work well with cross-functional groups including technicians, design engineers, analysis engineers, and program managers.
• Support company goals within a team structure and as an individual.
• Act as a liaison between PD&E and manufacturing to support end-of-line test improvements.
